Rules & Guidelines
Setting rules for small children is essential in the process of growing up. It also sets proper expectations for parents and students. All children, students and parents must adhere the rules and guidelines below.
Discipline
- No child will be allowed to hurt another child or adult.
- No child will be allowed to hurt him/herself or place him/herself in unsafe circumstances.
- No child will be allowed to destroy property.
- All children must help with cleanup.
After a child has been given verbal warnings, we place him/her in our time-out area. We see this as an opportunity to teach children how to properly behave individually and within a group. Once the child has shown the ability to control themselves, he/she is allowed back into class.

Sickness
It is extremely important to maintain a clean and healthy environment for everyone who enters the daycare center. If a parent shows up with children who show any of the following symptoms, they will not be admitted. If these symptoms develop over the course of a day, the Director will contact a parent and ask that the child be picked up as soon as possible.
- A fever of 101 or higher.
- Abdominal pain
- Wet cough with nasal discharge that requires excessive wiping.
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Eye infections (Pink Eye, yellow or green discharge)
- Skin infections (Ringworm)
- Highly Contagious Diseases (Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, Foot and Mouth)
In all of the cases above, the child must be symptom-free for 24 hours before he/she will be able to return. In addition, depending on the severity of the illness, a doctor's note may be required before the child can return.
All children are required to wash hands before and after playing outside, eating, using the toilet, or participating in messy crafts/projects.
